*G415 SLP Clinic 1 is in house (1 day/week equivalent) and lasts
for two semesters (Fall 1 + Spring 1 OR Spring 1 and Summer
1)
**SLA G107 Clinical Procedures
is a prerequisite course that some students take at the
undergraduate level before entering the SLP Grad Program.
If not taken as an undergraduate, students have to take
it as SLP graduate students. Clinical Procedure credits
do NOT count towards the minimum 52 semester SLP Program
graduate credits needed to graduate.
Also, for Undergraduates:
We are very pleased to be able to offer you a new program
in Early Intervention that will allow you to practice
as Early Intervention Developmental specialists in Massachusetts
once you graduate with your bachelors degree. This is
an interdisciplinary curriculum with four academic courses
and two practica in early intervention sites. It replaces
the standard curriculum in the 4th year of the program
and requires no extra credits or expense on your part.
The program has been approved by the department, the college
and the university. This program already exists at the
graduate level but is now open to our senior level undergraduates. There
is a shortage of Early Intervention personnel so this
is a very nice qualification to have. You may, of course,
continue to get your masters in Speech-Language Pathology
afterwords. If you are thinking of a career in Audiology,
this is probably not your best option.
