Alumni

Announcement: This
year, the department plans to found an alumni association.
We would love to make contact with you again. If you are
interested in joining this organization, please contact
Marjorie North (m.north@neu.edu)
or Helen Anis (h.anis@neu.edu).
We are already planning for events at the upcoming 2007
ASHA convention convention in Boston. We hope to see you
there!
We are also forming a department advisory committee. We
would value your expertise and are looking for 2-3 board
members who are alumni. Please check back periodically
for more information and ensure that we have a current
e-mail address for you. Please send updated addresses
to Karen O'Brien (ka.obrien@neu.edu).
We are proud of our alumni and we are pleased to let
you know where and what some of our Northeastern University
alumni are doing.
Jennifer (Wolfson) Cheron '03 SLP
Jennifer is working at the New England Center for Children
in Southborough, MA, where autism and AAC are her primary
focus. She is also participating in oral-motor exercise
research being conducted at her site. Jennifer has pursued
an additional interest: she is studying to become a certified
behavioral analyst.
Kimberly (Walsh) Dunn '03 SLP
Kimberly lives in the Philadelphia area. She is working
at the A.I. duPont Children's Hospital in Wilmington,
Delaware. Kimberly would like to hear from graduate students
who may be moving to this area of the country and who
may be interested in working at her site.
Christine Hirtle '03 SLP
Chrissy Hirtle remains in our nearby area. She reports
that she loves her work at the Brockton Public Schools
with children in Kindergarten through 6th grade.
Hilary (Kendrick) Jellison '03
Hilary completed her CFY at the Holyoke Medical Center,
Speech and Hearing Center, in Holyoke, MA. She continues
to work there with a variety of responsibilities. Hilary
reports that she sees adults in the hospital, completes
MBS studies, sees clients in the outpatient department
as well as the inpatient department and, in addition,
sees early intervention children and is a consultant to
local preschools.
Kristen McAvoy '04 SLP
Kristen has recently moved south with her husband to Charlotte,
North Carolina. Upon graduation, Kristen worked at the
North Shore Infant and Toddler Program in Lynn, MA. Currently,
she sees children ages birth to 5 years at the Charlotte
Speech and Hearing Center in N.C. and reports that her
major work is with feeding and AAC. She would be willing
to keep in touch with interested students.
Keriann Weir '04 SLP
Keriann specialized in trach and vent patients at the
New England Specialty Hospital in Braintree, MA. She enjoys
her patients and sees herself, in the future, helping
our graduate students who are interested in this population.
Elizabeth Von Euw '01 SLP
For the past several years, Elizabeth has been working
at the Tufts-New England Medical Center in downtown Boston.
She is the adult specialist specializing in dysphagia.
Elizabeth has also developed her worksite as a potential
practicum site for our graduate students and other graduate
students in the area.
