Spring Yr 2
**Research Idea Presentation - 5 minute presentation including
rationale, hypothesis, and brief literature review
2008 - March 20th - 12 PM 327 BK
Advisor will be assigned after this presentation - primary
advisor must be a faculty member
Summer Yr 2 - Research 1 (1 cr.)
**First Week of term - Short Concept Paper (1-2 pages)
- including basic literature survey - must include Proposal
Processing Form
Concept Paper format: Title of Project, What will be researched?,
Why this is important?, Literature Review: (Background
that led up to this work), How will the study will be
conducted? (Method), What I will learn from the study?,
Brief Timeline for the Study:Data collection will be completed
by:First draft of research report completed by: Final
draft of report completed by:, References; Intellectual
Property: Whose idea was this project? Your contribution

**By the end of term you should have complete literature
review and experimental design
Fall Yr 3 - Research 2 (1 cr.)
**data collection
Spring Yr 3 - Research 3 (1 cr.)
**February - present data set and findings formally
**By the end of the term - Final writeup
Please Note:
You must complete project prior to starting externship!
No NUTA, class, work study, or RA work can be used toward
research project.
Research course for 2008 is a single 3 credit class rather
than three 1 credit courses.
