Graduate Programs of Study:

This year for the first time we are using electronic advising and
recordkeeping. (You should, of course, make sure you meet your advisor
whenever you find it necessary and at least once per semester. Please
e-mail your advisor to make an appointment. Your advisor may also choose to
meet in a group.)

As part of this system, you should download your program of studies and
fill it out with the courses as you complete them The credits should add up
as you go so you know how many credits you have earned. You should be able
to use this simple Excel spreadsheet since you were given training in this
by the NU IS system. At the end of each semester, send an electronic copy
of your program of studies to your advisor with any questions you may have.
Please note the final page of the document that provides a place for you to
put queries and your advisor to respond. Please keep both paper and
electronic copies in a safe place!! This is your responsibility. Any
problems with the use of the form should be e-mailed to Linda Ferrier at
l.ferrier@neu.edu. She would also appreciate feedback and suggestions on
how this system is working.

Undergraduates:
We are very pleased to be able to offer you a new program in Early Intervention that will allow you to practice as Early Intervention Developmental Educators in Massachusetts once you graduate with your bachelors degree. This is an interdisciplinary curriculum with four academic courses and two practica in early intervention sites. It replaces the standard curriculum in the 4th year of the program and requires no extra credits or expense on your part. The program has been approved by the department, the college and the university. This program already exists at the graduate level but is now open to our senior level undergraduates. There is a shortage of Early Intervention personnel so this is a very nice qualification to have. You may, of course, continue to get your masters in Speech-Language Pathology afterwords. If you are thinking of a career in Audiology, this is probably not your best option.
